PACKING TIPS

Packing for travelPrepare a packing list of what you will need. It lets you organize packing and in case if you lose your luggage you would be able to tell what exactly is missing. You can refer to the packing list when making a lost luggage claim. Keep the packing list in your money belt together with other documents.
Type of luggage depends on your personal preference, on things that you are taking with you and your travel style. You can buy it online at TravelMake's luggage web page. Choose from hundreds of available types of suitcases, duffle bags and backpacks. Do not forget to consult with your airline's customer service about their luggage size requirements or you may be charged with extra fees for oversized luggage.
When planning your wardrobe, check the weather forecast for your destination and consider the types of activities you intend to participate in during your trip. Write down an outfit for each activity. Check whether one piece can cover several occasions. Clothes take the most of your baggage, so coose them carefully. Pick clothes that match well and pieces that can be worn in multiple layers for staying outdoors in any weather conditions. Dark colored and wrinkle-resistant clothes are the best, they are good for formal activities and do not get dirty as fast as light colored ones. Visit our online Travel Store for all kinds of travel clothing.
Find out about the hotel’s amenities (a hair dryer, an iron and board, soap, shampoo etc.), so you will know which accessories you should leave behind. Depending on the voltage standard and the type of electrical outlet in the destination country you may need to buy an appliance plug/ electrical converter for your electrical appliances. Remember that you can not bring potentially dangerous objects such as knives, scissors, nail files, or cigarette lighters in your carry-on bag. Although you can pack them in checked luggage.
Do not bring expensive jewelry that could attract thieves.
Label each piece of luggage with you phone number and address.
When packing, place shoes, toiletries and other heavy items in the bottom of the suitcase/ bag/ backpack. Wrinkle-resistant clothing can be rolled to make cushions for heavy items.
