Falltime in Portugal, a perfect time to visit - a detailed report by D.S.Morris about his trip to the Atlantic coast of Portugal, which for centuries was a favourite stomping ground for Portugal’s royalty and elite. Exquisite shops, high quality leather goods, simple and hearty gastronomy, plenty of indoor and outdoor performances and festivals, ideal climate, historical treasures, opulent hotels, postcard coastal towns, unforgettable panoramas- it is all about Estoril Coast. Well worth reading.

Big savings in the Big Apple - by Jennifer Eisenlau. She recommends a thrifty traveler in New York to take the subway, to eat at small ethnic restaurants and for amusement to search for discounted theater tickets. The article is brief and offers a general view on the subject. There are some links to places in NYC published. She also offers sightseeing baragains and inexpensive choices for kids. Although I can not agree with the author about her accomodation offer - "Hotel QT", with doormen and concierge, flat screen TVs and a pool which contradicts with the whole idea of the article. Why stay at "QT" for $120/night if you can spend only $80 at "Newton" in the very heart of NYC, in Manhattan saving 50% of your lodging money?

Istanbul, Turkey - Where Two Continents Meet - one more article by Lori Guretzki. Very well-writen story, based on personal experience, with quoted prices, advises and recommendations on travel to Istanbul. As she describes it- "exotic holiday destination, with friendly, hospitable people, an ideal climate and beautiful scenery". My personal recommendation: while in Turkey, especially if for a longer period of time, do not exchange all your currency for Turkish liras at once, it fluctuates a lot, sometimes- daily.
